How young is to young?
Posted On 10/28/2009 12:48:59 by pearlthong

I just read an article in the London Times this past weekend which surveyed married couples. The #1 topic that stood out to me was women marry older men. Another huge factor in the success of those marriages was the fact the woman in 79% of the cases had a high education then the male. The women that married an older man felt she was marrying someone that is a little more mature, willing to respect her and hoping his sexual knowledge with compare with hers. The sex stats were very interesting. A woman who married a older man had sex 1-3 times a week. The woman that married a younger male had sex 2-4 times a month!

My questions for our members is this: Have you or would you consider marrying a young man if your a woman. Men, do you consider the age of the woman?

The London Times survey was very interesting. I hope you can look it up on line and read all the stats. If you get a chance to visit London it's a wonderful place. The cafe's are fantastic.

Well, girls, this is exactly what I want to read a couple of days after celebrating(?) my 59th birthday

It just so happens that my wife, as well as all my previous partners, have been around 18 months older than me - maybe not how I'd have planned it with a clean sheet of paper, but hey! life's not like that. I have to say that I agree with the general notion that women grow up quicker than men, because in my case I'm still wondering what it would be like to be an adult. Just hope that I never get old enough to find out.

To redress the balance, my sister married a guy in his mid-30s when she was in her early 20s. They're still happily married some 45 years later, but I know for a fact that the age difference is taking its toll now that he's in his early 80s and she's still in her late 60s. He's a great guy and very active for his age (swims three times a week, goes up stairs two at a time) but the plain fact is that he's slowing down. So I guess that in a perfect world the man would be 2-5 years older than the woman.

Btw, Pearl, I nearly didn't recognise you with your your new avatar ... it's nice, more gentle than the old one.

I have always been attracted to men my age or older.  As I do find an older man to be more experienced and more mature.  Not that some younger men are not mature but there is something exciting to me about an older man.
